ASE is an open-sourced suite of tools that empowers developers to build feature-rich, interactive, long-form storytelling for WordPress. At the heart of ASE are 12 components designed for rich storytelling experiences. The components can be used multiple times throughout the story. Components are built on the fly with a generator provided directly inside the story editor.
Story Design
With the technology in ASE, each story can be designed independently from one another. Not only can each story have a different cover, in a different design, but each stories colors can be completely changed to reflect the theme of the story.
WordPress Theme Implementation
The Story Engine can be used with any WordPress theme, so long as the theme is designed with the components in mind. ASE components are designed full-width, and can be restricted. This means that a theme that sets a width on a main column won’t work.
Technical Stuff
ASE loads two files with a combined weight of about 33kb. The CSS file loads only the necessary core styles for the components. The rest of the styling is completely up to the WordPress theme.
